Silence Now on Display in Gallery 610

Last Updated 4/20/2026

This spring, Gallery 610 invites the community to pause, reflect, and sit with something we rarely seek out in our daily lives in Silence. Running April 12th through May 31st, this group exhibition explores a deceptively simple but deeply personal prompt posed to each participating artist: What does silence bring you? Solitude? Peace and quiet? The feeling of being unheard?

RenewAll's mission is to catalyze Central City's thriving economic future by connecting residents and entrepreneurs with our creative and industrial heritage. Located inside Village Antiques, Gallery 610 was established as a professional venue for regional artists to exhibit and sell their work in the heart of Central City. For this group show, we had five returning artists and four new artists participating. Read on to learn more about the artists involved!

Meet the Artists of Silence

Ann Grimes is a local artist from Lavalette, West Virginia, whose creative practice spans painting, fiber arts, and sculpture. After a 33-year career teaching art in West Virginia public schools, Ann continues to explore new techniques, including needle felting, weaving, and the use of recycled materials. For this show, Ann submitted beautiful, framed colored-pencil drawings, one titled “I Can’t Hear You,” which reflects the silence of deafness, hearing only the vibrations of sound.

Laura Moul approaches Silence through the lens of photography. Using digital capture with minimal postproduction, her work evokes emotional memory and the quiet beauty of natural landscapes. In addition to her artistic practice, Laura is deeply committed to arts leadership, serving on boards for regional photography and art organizations and fostering connections among fellow creatives.

Euthimia "Efi" Gianna is a local embroidery artist whose work is rooted in a lifelong love of stitching. Efi began learning to stitch at age ten, guided by her grandmother who introduced her to cross-stitch and a wide range of techniques. Over the years, she combined that foundation with her love of drawing to develop a free-style embroidery practice. Her work (photographed above) is titled, “Eliana Rose G”. Efi says, “This hoop is all about love, books, dreams, flowers, sweet scents floating in the air, and beautiful thoughts that make life worth living.”

A.D. Maynard is a local artist living and working in Huntington, WV. She works across a variety of mediums, often using acrylics on canvas alongside assemblages, collages, and 3-D works. A.D. is also a numerologist and metaphysician specializing in ancient cultures. She is a graduate of Healing Hearts Academy and currently serves on its Board of Directors, and is a featured speaker on the international Spirit Heart Cruises.

Lydia Ziolkowski Azzarone, originally from Northern Nevada and now living outside Huntington, draws inspiration from nature, fashion, and femininity. Working in acrylics, printmaking, collage, paper mâché, and digital art, Lydia balances her personal studio practice with her role as a high school art educator. She remains actively engaged in local and online art communities, continually expanding her creative reach. Her piece, titled "Deer" is featured to the left.

William "Bill" Hill is a self-taught artist born and raised in West Virginia. Never one to limit his creative expression, he works across a variety of mediums.

Ryan Denvir is a British-Appalachian, mixed media oil painter and photographer born and raised in West Virginia. Their work weaves together themes of queer identity, Appalachian culture, and the natural world.  For this show, Ryan submitted a few photographs, one titled "Rising Sun," which he said captures a glimpse into the morning sunrise in the silent Redwood Forest amid early spring.

Lauryn Coffman is a senior at Huntington High School, where she participates in Art Honorary in the Honors Program. Her passion project this year has centered on painting murals throughout the school to create a more welcoming and inspiring environment. Lauryn works across all art forms, from sketching and painting to photography. Her work has been exhibited at the Huntington Museum of Art, Marshall University, and the Charleston Civic Center. She has also earned recognition at both the state level for the Junior Duck Stamp and the national level for the American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Contest. Lauryn hopes to one day own her own art studio and continue creating for others.
Silence also features works by Patricia Chapman (1944–2021), a beloved West Virginia artist who lived and worked in Huntington for several decades. After graduating from Charleston High School, Patricia pursued degrees in English and Art at Marshall University, going on to work as a teacher and artist for over 50 years. She was passionate about her art and deeply committed to her craft, earning recognition throughout her career for her assemblages and receiving honors from the West Virginia Juried Exhibition and the West Virginia Division of Culture and History Juried Exhibitions.

Silence is not meant to be explained, but to be experienced. Each artist responds to the prompt in their own voice, medium, and mood, creating a collective conversation that unfolds as you move through the gallery.

By supporting exhibitions like this, RenewAll continues to invest in artists while strengthening Central City as a destination for creativity and connection. We believe that vibrant neighborhoods are built when artists are supported, stories are shared, and community members feel invited inside.

Gallery 610 is free and open to the public and located upstairs at 610 W. 14th Street, Huntington, WV. We invite you to visit, spend time with the work, and discover what silence might mean to you. Works on display are for sale and pickup will occur after the exhibit concludes.
