Staff Spotlight: Meet Lex McGlone
Lex McGlone joined the Village Antiques team in November 2024, but her journey with the Central City community started just a little earlier. “At first, Matt and I decided to rent a case here under Mystic Crafts,” Lex explained. “Maybe a month or so later, Denise approached me about working here, and I’ve been here ever since!”
Lex was drawn to Village Antiques after a chance visit. “I can’t remember exactly what caught our attention, but I know we happened upon Village, and something that really solidified that we wanted to be here was Angela’s booth, which had crystals and tarot cards. I knew we could fit in.”
Originally from a small town and having spent time in big cities and even different countries, Lex was surprised by the depth and diversity of the community here. “I’ve never spent a lot of time in this area before, but I didn’t expect it to feel so worldly, so international. You don’t usually hear phrases like ‘close-knit’ and ‘big city’ together very often, but Central City has a feeling of both, with events like the psychic fair and organizations like RenewAll that care so much and try to give back to the community.”
One memory that stands out for Lex reflects exactly that spirit. “A family came in and found a signed Chris Sabo signed baseball; he’s a former Reds player and one of the dad’s favorites. The kids were so excited, and I got to wrap it secretly as a gift. Watching him open it, literally just a moment later, his face lit up with pure joy. It was like seeing a kid catch a foul ball at the game. Seeing that kind of joy sticks with you.” Lex also added that she is also a Reds fan, so this moment was even more special.
We’re thrilled to have Lex as part of the team, bringing their warmth, creativity, and passion to Village Antiques and the wider Central City community.
