Nichole Westfall brings Giclée Printing Service to Central City through Pop-Up West

Last Updated 12/23/2025

During her time at Pop-Up West, Nichole Westfall has been able to offer at-cost printing for local artists. This past weekend, she opened the door to the public and to the Huntington Photo Club for a 2-day Pop-Up Printing Event. Karhlee Zambos, President of the Huntington Photo Club, said teaming up with Nichole was a great experience. “Even though we’re a ‘photo’ club, we’re very much a group of creatives who love art in all forms,” Zambos said. “Having the opportunity to support another local business is what keeps the art scene alive. Huntington is full of creatives who need spaces just like Aigo,” Zambos added.

Zambos also mentioned that the experience was more than a printing experience. She said, “We also played around with 35mm film negatives, which was really fun. There are no film labs in the state of West Virginia, so being able to have access to equipment and just see how things work hands-on was cool.”

What are Giclée Prints?

Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) prints are fine art reproductions made using high-end inkjet printers, archival pigment inks, and museum-quality papers. They’re known for their rich color, soft gradients, and ability to hold onto the small details that make a reproduction its own piece of artwork. It’s a process artists often choose when they want prints that feel intentional and long-lasting.

The Magic Printer

Nichole gave some insight about her printer at Pop-Up West. She said, “In my studio, giclée prints are made using the Epson SureColor P900. Paired with pigment-based inks and cotton rag papers, it does an amazing job translating the texture, color variation, and nuances of an original piece into print, while also being archival and fade-resistant.”

Nichole said she was able to bring giclée printing in-house thanks to a Professional Development Grant awarded through WV Tourism, at the time administered by the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History. “The grant supported the purchase of the Epson SureColor P900 along with essential printing supplies, making it possible for me to produce high-quality prints for myself, and for local artists,” Nichole shared. “The printer allows me to have more control over my work, and will allow me to expand what I offer to customers,” she added.
