Event Recap and Photo Gallery: Earth & Culture Day 2024

Last Updated 4/23/2024

Central City's first Earth & Culture Day, powered by RenewAll Inc. and the Appalachian ReUse Hub, made for a successful day of honoring and celebrating Mother Earth and her people. RenewAll's Art Advisory Board collaborated with multiple organizations to put on an event that included live music, speakers/presentations, hands-on activities, and delicious food!

We had two continental sponsors for this event, which allowed for a free and fun event for all: ACLU-WV and WV American Water. In addition, organizations such as Mountain Mindful, Joe Public Press, Goodwill Inc., and Marshall Sustainability offered hands-on activities that promoted sustainable efforts such as making your own paper and screenprinting with eco-friendly material. Goodwill Inc and Marshall Sustainability hosted a craft and reuse activity in which participants were able to plant WV Wildflowers in recycled cans. Local artists, like Kim Boley, showcased their eco-friendly art skills through demonstrations such as weaving. Volunteers from Target and Cabell Midland High School were happy to assist throughout the entire day. Community organizations such as Huntington Stormwater Utility were on-site to educate the public about flood and water safety. RenewAll extends a massive shoutout to all who coordinated, volunteered, and participated in this awesome event. Check out the photo gallery of the day below!
